Green Day had its freakin awesome moments in the 90s. American Idiot was a step into a different direction. I enjoyed the album itself, but not the immediate descent.

Linkin Park has moments where I question what theyre doing, but I have alot of respect for their music.In A Thousand Suns They pretty much say in the coverslip that they abandoned commercial appeal in favor of what they believe to be art. Tat album was freaking beautiful in that sense, because there was so much expressionism going on.

Both bands have a solid career. Green Day ranges from Punk to Alternative to something resembling pop, while Linkin Park literally has songs that can fit in every genre.

Think of it this way; Meteora was a predominately metal album, Minutes to Midnight was rock, and A Thousand Suns went Electronic. They like to experiment.

Theyre both good in different ways, but Im more looking forward to seeing what becomes of Linkin Park. Green Day scares me with Uno Dos Tres
